Ryder smirked, though Amara could not see it, he knew how to word things so as to make her smile already.
"Well if you want to get technical...the light you see is actually from the sun..."
Some times Ryder just need how to be a complete smart-mouth. And it just so happened that this was one of those times. He smirked and took a deep breathe, all the scents around him filling his nostils, the grass, the nightly dew, the stone of the graves, and Amaras scent. it smelled of death, yet that seemed overwhelmed by a more potent smell, it was strange, a smell that most living carried, but then again, being a vampire could be considered half way between death and life. so it did not truly surprise him. The aroma was actually more pleasant than not, and only those with inhuman sense of smell would be able to decypher it from any other smell that they could pick up.

Amara laughed. "Yes...you're right." She tilted her head to the side. "I never thought of it that way. I can be in the sun's light...as long as the moon shields the harshness of it from me." She smiled. "Maybe there are some things good about being...what I am. Not many get to see the moon in this way...respect it...love it."
Amara sighed. "It's like having the world to yourself...a world of darkness that you can revel in. If not for the hunger...it would be pleasant."

Ryder sighed, his heavy chest carrying the weight of Amaras last words, the hunger, he did not know hunger in her sense. But he had his own struggles in what he was, but he figured that all things had good, and consequence. for him, he had always seen the consequence and not that he thought about it, it truly seemed that for everyone it was so much easier to see the consequences than the pros of their kinds. here he had always feared his inner beast, his demons, and that was his consequence, but now here he stood, with his good. He found a way to cope with what he was by serving as Amaras vassle. He could cope with what he was because he now felt as though he served a higher purpose.
"Yes well...with all good things come the consequences we must pay for them...nothing in life is taken for free..only given"

Amara broke from Ryder's embrace, taking a few steps forward. His words had an unpleasant reaction on her. It stirred something within her that made her uncomfortable. She turned to face him, a strange confusion on her face.
"If with all good things come consequences...what about the wrongs that we have done? Nothing is taken for free, you say. I have taken many lives...so I must suffer for it, if what you say is true."

Ryder let his head sink. He knew Amara was right. he had said those words himself. But it was not exactly as he had truly meant them.
"We pay for what we do...it is called guilt...amd i for one still struggle with what I have done...and I still seek repeentance for it...for no amount of water can wash away the blood on my hands"
((OOC:sorry bout the short post...kinda tired))

Amara's head bowed, eyes searching the ground for a distraction. She found no solace in the dried leaves. She hopped onto the top of the grave stone nimbly, standing atop it, giving herself more height.
"There's so much I don't know about you." She said, jumping to another stone, carrying her a little farther away from Ryder. "And maybe it's better that I don't. I will not ask you of your past, since it causes you pain. I can sense it."
((OOC: Well, if you're too tired, you can go to sleep...I won't mind ^^))

Ryder shook his head, turning his gleaming orange eyes back to Amara. He sighed and lifted his shoulders as if throwing off a great weight from them. He looked towards Amara now in compassion, noticing the distance she had put between them. he slumped down and rested fully against a tomb stone.
"no it is alright...you should know...I trust you enough to give you that much information about me...maybe it will help you to understand. Here sit..."
Ryder motioned to the area next to him, not really specifying the ground or a stone. Just for her not to be so far from him while he would speak.

Amara stepped off the stone and walked slowly over to him, lowering herself to the ground beside him. She pulled her knees to her chest like a small child, leaning her cheek against her knees. She clasped her arms around her legs and looked up at him, waiting for him to speak.

Ryder sighed and turned to Amara, as he begun to speak.
"You see...a few years ago..on the night of my eight-teenth birthday to be exact, I found out what I truly was. that was the night i first changed into my beatial form. It was late in July, hot, very humid. And I was lying in bed dreaming..the moon was full and shone directly onto my bed.
It was then that i woke, a pain tearing into my gut, it forced me to the floor, rolling out of bed.."
As he spoke, the images came into his mind vivdly, yet the did not hurt as they always had. Maybe all he had needed was for someone to know his story, to understand why he felt the way he did.
"the pain made me scream and my body began to change. By the time my father burst through the door I had lost myself to my beast....
I killed him...tore him to pieces...then my mother as well...I awoke the next morning covered in their blood...."

Amara's face showed sympathetic sorrow. His pain was in the air, a sense she was used to...but this was different. She pitied him for his pain. This time...she was not the one causing the pain. She raced her face to meet his gaze.
"I'm sorry." She whispered, lip trembling with an emotion she was less familiar with. "I truly am."

Ryder met Amaras soft eyes and nodded. He sighed heavily and ran his hand back through his hair. the soft brown sat back into place quickly, the perk to having short hair. He patted Amara on the knee and smiled.
"There is one thing I have learned from living....the past is not meant to make us suffer...we learn from it, grow...it helps to shape us..."
As Ryder spoke he thought about all he had been through, how hard it hard been on him, how many times he had been so ready just to throw everything he had away. but now in a graveyard he sat conversing with a vampiress, whom not only was the sworn enemy of the races that made Ryder, but was also fed by him. That pain somehow lessened all others. The knowledge that he could help Amara hurt no others, and save more from becoming vampires by accident made him feel warm inside, knowing he had a purpose.

Amara closed her eyes. "Wise words that everyone could live from." She whispered. Her eyes drifted to the moon again, constantly keeping track of the time. She could afford no mistakes...it could cost her her life. Her past was one that was not painful to talk about...nothing bad had happened to her, until the transformation. She had then been forced to live alone...but had found that bearable. And now...she had Ryder...an enemy to her race, and yet she didn't care. He was a friend...and a way for her to hurt no one else.
Amara pushed the hair away from her face, tucking it behind her small ears. She stretched her legs in front of her, leaning back on her elbows. "The darkness seems so bright...with the stars providing light." She said with a smile. "The beauty of the moon...it mocks us. Silver in color...strange...silver, the dreaded metal that burns so deeply, gives the living dead their light." She looked up at Ryder. "Why is it that my kind is called the living dead? We have not truly died...though we smell of death and our skin holds no warmth. Cut me, and I bleed...feel my chest, my heart still beats...though I do not change, does it make me nonliving?"

Ryder stood offering a hand to Amara as he did so. It would be light out in a few hours, and they had a walk ahead of them back to town. but he was not hurrying, merely being aware of what was going on, just like his vassle.
"Your kind got that name back in the dark ages, when vampires were believed to be the risen bodies of the deceased, possessed by devils...
And you have yet to feed tonight Amara....will you be ok...?"

Amara took his hand, rising to her feet. She silently cursed the sun for it's arrogance...always wanting to shine, forcing the moon to move so it could cast its harsh rays down on her. If only there was a way to let the moon shine forever...so that she would not have to stay hidden through the day. But, the truth was...she was tired. Sleep was calling her, and her lips parted in a yawn, a slender hand covering her mouth.
Amara faced Ryder. "There is so much I still have to learn...about what I am." She whispered. She turned her eyes back to the path before her. "My mind is troubled...the hunger has not yet called. I will be fine." She replied.

Ryder nodded, understanding. he followed her gaze to the horizon, understanding also that the rays of the sun were not far away. She would have to shelter her skin and flesh from the sharp bite of Raphaels power. Ryder turned his eyes from the horizon to Amaras eyes and back, there was a small breeze building in the graveyard and it made his duster coat sway around his legs. The light brown leather like material fluttered to and fro and then away from his legs.
Ryder buttoned the bottom buttons on the coat to keep it tight to his form. he pointed to the horizon where a purple hue was beginning to penetrate the darkness. He then turned to Amara and spoke
"We should get you Home...the sun comes for you..."
