Personality: Quick-tempered and hostile, she is only kind to her sister, who has traveled with her for the past fifteen years, and has been with her since her sister was born, around 38 years ago. She holds back nothing, and is a ruthless killer. The taste of human blood is heaven to her, and she cannot get enough of it.
She is very suspicious of humans especially, but most people in general. She is cool, calm, collected, and ready to fight at any point in time. She doesn't react well when being surrounded by others. In fact, she hates being surrounded by large crowds, as that hinders her movement. She will usually shove past people, and growl if they try to attack her for her rudeness. She is powerful and she knows it. Still, she doesn't react to her power, and usually ignores it, which has sent many humans into walls or higher.
Arashi doesn't like very much of anything, and she takes her anger out on other people. While she loves being a vampire, she also hates it, and only will do things for people if they pay her... And they can't be humans. Who would take a job from freakin' food anyways?
She has low tolerance for stupid people, whatever their race. If they are stupid, they deserve what comes to them... which is usually a first-rate ticket to her stomach. It's wise not to get her mad at you.... Really wise.
History: Born to Crimson and Akahana Phoenix, she was delivered into this world on December 13. She was the only child at the time, and a pure human. She didn't start crying when she was born, but examined her father coolly. Then she hiccuped a little and giggled, as if laughing at him. He gave her to her mother, and she smiled then, and giggled happily. And that was how she entered the world on a cold, dark, wintery December 13.
She was pampered as a child, given everything she wanted... even a baby sister. She loved her sister very much, and would often take her sister places and teach Rasha many interesting things that she had only been taught the day before. She grew up very happily, and very naively.
When she was older, she started to go wandering around in the forest around her house. Though she didn't know it at the time, many creatures were watching her, including one she was fated to meet very soon. She roamed the grounds and found someone to teach her about the plants of the forest. Soon, she knew which plants were deadly, which ones were good to eat, which ones could heal nearly everything, which ones would taste wonderful in a stew and so on. She also learned how to hunt from this person, and usually brought home on course of the family's meal every other night or so.
She learned to ride horses at a young age and became very proficient in them. She loved to take her horse out on runs and gallop in the meadows and the streets. Her sister was with her always, and became her lackey, in a sense. But still, her sister was very good hearted about the whole business, and was willing to go along with her sister for anything.
When she was nineteen, her sister fifteen, something incredible happened... Something almost too much for words.
They were sitting in the forest, on to large rocks, and chatting one another merrily. They were on their way home, and decided to take a rest from riding and explore the area. It was dark out, but they didn't think of dangers. They had a good fire going, after finding this spot to rest. Suddenly, the horses started to fidget, trying to get their reins untied. Arashi looked at them and walked over, "What's up, girl? Something wrong?"
From the top of the tree she was under, something fell on her. It was heavy. She struggled, but her mouth was gagged as soon as she opened it. Her sister was asking if anything was wrong, and a voice eerily like hers yelled that she was alright. There was no way that Rasha could have told that it wasn't her voice. She struggled some more, but only got pushed into the ground. She was on her chest, and her chin was being pressed into the ground harshly. She wanted to cry out, but she couldn't. Suddenly, she was knocked out by the pommel of a sword. She did not know anything else until near dawn.
She woke quickly, to find that she was strapped on her horse, and being led by the attacker. She tried to get free from her bonds, but found that she couldn't. She looked around her, to see that her sister was unconscious and strapped on the other horse. She started to panic, and tears split down her face. This was not going to end well, she could tell.
They were led down into a dark cave that looked cavernous inside, though very small on the outside. She looked around her, trying to remember how to get out, but the cave path had many twists and turns, as well as many paths branching off in different ways. She was nearly hysterical now, though her sister remained relatively lifeless.
Then she was roughly taken off her horse and put in a cell-like branch of the caves. There was a barred door fitted into the entrance, and it was obvious that prisoners had been placed here before. She found that the person who had taken her off of the horse had made a gash in her bonds. She freed herself, and looked around the dark room. She couldn't see a thing, though she could hear Rasha's screams coming from a little distance away, echoing through the cave. Then they abruptly stopped. Arashi feared the worst, and went to the door of the cell, harshly whispering Rasha's name. No answer come. Arashi started to sob, and sat down on the floor. She stayed there the next day, nodding off many times. When she came awake again, a figure was moving towards her in the cell.
Arashi was then picked up, and she fought all the way. Still, the figure did not seem to mind the brutal attacks she administered, and she was brought into many other rooms. There were figures carrying girls on their shoulders all around her, and she looked for Rasha. After minutes of searching, she saw her, and nearly started crying with relief... But she was done with crying, and she would not cry.
She was taken into a lighted room, and her eyes ached miserably. She was dumped unceremoniously on the floor, and before she really could react, her wrists and ankles were bound together. She looked around her, bewildered and scared, and finally saw a figure that all the men seemed to revolve around. And when Arashi saw her, she gasped.
This woman, she was as pale as a ghost, perhaps even paler, but she was deadly beautiful. Her lips were white, but still lush. Her hair was a beautiful blue-black, and it fell down her back in such waves that was not possibly human. Her body was perfect, as were her graceful movements as she looked back and forth at the dozen girls that were put before her. Her eyes, they showed so much, yet so little. They were emotionless, ruthless, and daringly beautiful. They glittered, sapphires embedded in flesh. Dark blue in hue, they showed a vampire... A true vampire. Arashi shivered as she realized what the woman was, but did not sob like some of the other girls.
Then would begin the nightmare of her life.
The vampire smiled a fake-sweet smile at them all, and examined them with her penetrating gaze. She looked over every girl slowly, and her eyes stopped on a few. Finally, she whispered something to one of her men, and a few of the girls were gestured at. Those girls were quickly apprehended and taken away, to a different hall of the cave. Then, there were only eight girls remaining. All of them were fairly beautiful, but no where near the vampiress.
Finally, she recognized another of the girls. It was Setsu, her best friend. Their eyes met, and they shared in their fear. The three of them, Setsu, Rasha, and Arashi... they were the only one's from their area. With a heavy heart, Arashi looked up at the vampire, and expelled all her fear. She stared at the woman, remembering the beautifully deadly face of cool porcelain.
"Welcome." the cool words were enough to give Arashi goose bumps. She refused to shiver, but watched the unnatural woman, "I see you all have made it here in one piece. Good for you... Now, the tests shall begin. Three of you... Only three of you shall survive. Good luck."
With that, the vampiress took herself out of the room with an evil laugh, and locked the door behind her. The girls were carried off again, and then the worst happened.
The men, they were ordinary rouges, in some league with the vampire, and they took each of their captives into a room, with one bed and many devices of torture. It was a bloody, unforgivable night. Arashi, violated and scarred, was tormented beyond compare. How she survived the brutal attacked, the whips and the ropes, she still asks that question today. But, survive it she did, though she did not want to.
When they met with the vampiress again, after three nights of continuous torture. There were only five girls left, and one of them, a girl that Arashi did not know, was very near the edge of death. However, it was to stand in front of Arashi the vampiress did. She smiled coldly down at the girl, "How did you survive, of all of these girls. Devren, the person who had charge of you, is the worst of the lot. The most vicious... It's a wonder you survived, and better than many of the girls... Amazing..."
The girls were put back in their cells for a week, fed irregularly, but fed. The food was adequate, edible. After the seventh night, they were brought again into the vampiress' presence. It was much like the second time that they had been with her. There was another girl missing, bringing down the number to four. Arashi had mixed feelings about the fact that Rasha and Setsu still being there.
Finally, she asked, "Lady... What happened to the others?"
The vampiress looked at her coolly, smirking and showing her fanged teeth. Then she answered, "Few there are who would dare question me... especially of human breed. But, since you asked so politely... The others, they get thrown into our storage cell... and eventually, get fed on and die. I believe it would be in your best interests, young prey, to pass."
Arashi nodded slowly, and dropped her eyes. She was especially glad that they had survived. She did not want her sister to end up food for a vampire, doomed to wait in a dark room until her fate met her.
"The last test, for surely one of you will be picked off, is the decision... Do not fail, though one of you will. Goodbye till then." The vampiress whisked herself out of the room.
The four girls looked at each other nervously. Then, they were taken into a room, given a weapon of their choice, and confronted with one wild wolf each. Being good at the dagger for short range, that is was Arashi took. The wolf attacked her with a snarling growl, but she had it dead within twenty minutes. She suffered major cuts and scrapes, but nothing lethal, though one was certainly flowing a lot of blood.
She was put in that huge room again, and had to wait ten more minutes to see her sister be carried in. They huddled together, and treated their wounds as best they could. Rasha had fighting skills because of the lessons that Arashi had given her. Now, the hugged one another, glad to be alive. After another half an hour, a very bloodied Setsu showed up, breathing hard. They quickly tended to her, but realized that the last girl would never show up.
The vampire entered a little later on, and smiled at them all, "Oh, how foolish you three must be. A fate like mine is a rare one, but it gets old fast. Death was the only way out, and now you are finished. Come, you..."
She pointed at Arashi, "I shall start with you, the strongest of them all."
Arashi stood up and limped after the vampiress, unable to think of anything else to do. And then she remembered the sensuous playing the vampiress did with her. The playing and petting. The toying with and loving. Even though she didn't want to, Arashi was falling for the vampire, as mortals do. Then, the fangs sank into her throat, and she remembered the gentle pulling at the start. Suddenly it got faster, much faster... At the brink of death, something was pressed to her lips, and a hot liquid flowed down her throat. It was amazing. It was exciting. It tasted wonderful. At that point, Arashi realized she had been turned into a vampire.
She was then put in a nice room to recuperate. Instead of a bed, there was a coffin. She slept, a little uncomfortably in it, disturbed by the wicked smile that the vampiress, now known to her as Celestial, had playing on her lips before she shut the door to Arashi's room.
After a week of sleep and fully going through the transformation process, she was called to Celestial's side. In front of her, there were the other two girls. They looked at her with awe and fright, and she realized she must have looked as deathly beautiful as Celestial.
The vampiress looked at her and gestured to her sister, "You shall do it now... Take that one... Make her a vampire... I shall show you how. Come here, young one."
They were led into a different room, and Arashi was forced to turn her sister. And her sister, after a week, was forced to turn Setsu.
Years later, they took off, leaving Lady Celestial alone. From then on, they have been wandering and killing. The vampires have hired them many times to kill things. And there was this certain shape shifter that wanted something or whatever... Cards, whatever those are... Arashi and Rasha have been wondering if they should go or not...
Other General Information:
What Are Your Character's Flaws?
Arashi cannot go out in the sun for very obvious reasons. She can't really eat human foods, as her stomach is attuned to blood. If she hasn't fed for a day or two, she gets very angry, irritable, and generally not a nice person. She does not like the sight of crosses, as they make her nervous. She isn't affected by them, and whoever made up that legend was fairly stupid. But it reminds her that even her death is so easy to conceive.
What Are Your Character's Likes?
Arashi doesn't like much of anything. Of course, she loves her sister, and she loves the taste of blood. She has so many dislikes, that it's impossible to find what she does like. She likes killing and hunting, but other than those few things, she dislikes pretty much everything else. Oh, she does like cats and bats. Also, she likes wolves.
What Are Your Character's Dislikes?
Ha... it could take forever to list all she hates down here. She hates the sun, she hates coffins, she hates vampires, she hates humans, she hates stupid people, she hates smart-aleck people, she hates men especially, she hates dogs, she hates rats, she hates her parents, she hates her uncle, she hates shape shifters, she hates gypsies, she hates everyone else in the world, she hates plants, she hates the stars, she hates crowds, she hates solitude, she hates talking, she hates being absolutely silent for too long, she hates small spaces, she hates very large spaces, she hates Celestial, she hates her names, she hates other people's names, she hates her sister (yet loves her), she hates herself for hating her sister, she hates herself for hating herself, she hates the smells of human food, she hates the smell of alley ways, and she hates lots and lots of noise... Those are just a few of her hatreds, must I go on? Whatever you can think of, she probably hates.
What Are Your Character's Fears?
Arashi fears the sun, as most vampires do. She dislikes water, in a slightly fearful way, even though it doesn't affect her. She is afraid of crosses, though again, they don't harm her. She is afraid that she'll find a human who has the stupid notion that the only way to kill a vampire is to put a stake through it's heart (though that would kill ANYBODY). She has an inane fear of most everything in legends and myths because she grew up listening how to get rid of vampires.
RP Sample (2-3 Paragraphs Please):
Arashi looked around, her eyes barely slits. Did this forest go on forever?! Geez, she was getting very tired of being here. The trees swayed in the dark, and she watched the silver-green leaves flutter. The oaks themselves were very old and big, two people couldn't have wrapped their arms around them. And as big as they were, with every furlong the sisters went, they got bigger and bigger. Arashi scowled at the trees, worried about the dawn... In a couple of hours, it would be on them. Then what?
Arashi looked back at her sister, and saw that Rasha was having the time of her life, looking at all of the trees. She was having the time of her life, apparently. Arashi's scowl dropped and she observed her sister with a tinge of a smile. As long as her sister was happy, that's all that mattered. Arashi looked ahead again and watched the stars. They were very clear and seemed to be very close tonight. It was sad that Arashi didn't really admire their beauty like she used to. She sighed and looked ahead. Then she blinked.
Right in front of her was a huge tree, the ending of the forest path that they had been following. Still, that wasn't the thing that had made her look again. Nailed on the tree, there was a sealed envelope with clear words saying, "Arashi and Rasha Phoenix." The words were so smooth, so proper. Arashi rode up beside it and ripped the paper from the tree, tearing the letter open. Inside, there was a couple pages of paper, all with the delicate little hand-writing on them. She took them out and examined them silently. She sighed then, and read it. After she was finished, she looked like she was about to kill something. She handed the paper to Rasha, who read it as well.
"Well, sister?" Rasha looked at her silently.
"I don't know. I suppose we should, we're broke. And it's for the clan, right? Still, what right does that insolent little Shape Shifter Lord have in asking us to do this, and make us ride all the way out here. If we don't get going, we'll be caught in the sun. Still, they said that there was also good food provided... Two shape shifters, one that is very unique, and a gypsy. Ahh... gypsy blood, it tastes good. I suppose that we should, but I'll think on it, okay?" Arashi said, looking at her sister. Truly, she did not care, but it was Rasha's decision, though the younger girl didn't know it. Slowly, Rasha nodded, and Arashi turned her horse around.
"Come, we must get to where we left our coffins, or we shall burn!" With that, she urged her horse into a gallop, and they sped through the dark, racing towards the edge of the forest where they would take their sleep for the day.
