Daylight was speeding forwards as fast as lightning, and a young vampire was being caught unprepared and far away from home. She turned in every direction, trying to find the exit to the accursed place. Everywhere she looked, there were a thousand faces, staring back at her...mockin her stupidity. Unexperienced, she had forgotten to watch the time in her enjoyment of the many wonders of the market place. It was open nonstop...and it fascinated her.
"Someone...help me." She whispered...she would have screamed it, but she didn't want to appear weak.
Amara could feel the sun fixing to break over the horizon. She needed to find shelter...in whatever form available. If she didn't...she shuddered at the consequences. She felt like a child once again, lost in a store with her guardian nowhere in sight.
Amara turned in a complete circle, eyes flashing fear. She took a step forward, but it led her nowhere. She sank to the ground, trembling, afraid. The people just walked by her, paying her no attention.
A tear fell from Amara's eye. So this was how it felt to know you were to die?

Durriken watched from the window of his room. He was staying at in an inn, as always. He pretty much knew every one by heart, which ones were a good deal, and which ones would literary try to rob you. When he saw the vampire freaking out in the market place he really didn’t bat an eye. He was more surprised out how the other people didn’t even really notice she was a vampire yet. If they did they would have ran into their homes by now. He was about to leave the window when he got literally slapped by his cards.
Two cards came out of his deck and slapped him across the face. He sighed, knowing what they wanted. He was supposed to be bring balance to the world. And how would he do that if he let a vampire die for no reason. Giving one last sigh he opened his window a crack and let a single card slipped through. It drifted toward the women, with what seemed like on the wind, but it was really done by the card itself. When it got close to her, a dark shroud began to emerge. It blocked out the sun and would shield her from sight and light until she made it to a house or dark alley. The card that drifted down was The Moon, master of deception and darkness.

Amara looked up, confused a bit as the card shielded her from the penetrating rays of the sun that were starting to rise. "Thank you." She muttered, looking for the person who had sent the card. She saw a face in the hotel window, and she knew it must have been this man. Seeing no other escape, she stood, brushing herself off and walking towards the hotel. People parted to let her pass, some giving her wary glances because of the haunted look on her face.
Amara stepped into the hotel. "I need a room." She stated, handing the clerk the money, accepting the small golden key. She hated to be caught away from her home...but there was no other choice. The card was gone...and she was a bit sad. For some reason, the card had given her comfort...like she wasn't really alone.

Durriken saw the card coming back after the women entered the inn. He opened his window and with a flick of his wrist he sent the card under the door. It went under the crack and hung itself on the outside of the door, easy to see by anyone coming by. Durriken stood up from sitting by the window and brushed his cloths off. He also rubbed the red spot on his cheek from where his cards slapped him, it still slightly stung.
Durriken really wanted to know why a vampire would let itself get caught outside so close to sunrise. Any later and she would have been a smoldering pile of ash in the middle of the market place.
((Um...I hope you have some idea where this is going...cause I don’t.))

((I'll see what I can do, lol))
Amara padded to the door, seeing the card presenting itself. She knocked softly on the cool wooden surface. "Sir?" She asked. She hoped that the person inside was one that accepted immortals...not one who feared or hated them.
Amara didn't know what had led her to approach the man, but something deep inside her soul, however dark it was, had forced her to thank him. Without this act of kindness, she would have died.

“Enter,” came the voice of Durriken when he heard her voice.
With her there the card left the door and went back inside. Also, with a small click the lock on the door disengaged, allowing her to enter the room.
Durriken wondered what she wanted, though it wasn’t a long guess that she would. He sighed as he remembered all the messes his cards got him in. In the long run they normally got him chased out of what ever town he was in by an angry mob.

Amara stepped quietly into the room, apprehensive of her surroundings. She stayed in the shadows, not daring to step closer to the window. She looked at the man through soft brown eyes, taking him in.
"I...just wanted to say thank you." She muttered in that strange musical voice. "You're a card reader, right? You can see the future?" She asked, eyes twitching to every corner of the room. "Could you...tell mine? Or does it not work on...people like me?"

“Yes, I am a reader, you are welcome, and yes, it will work on you. All you have to do is shuffled the deck and hand it back. Also, what type of reading would you like?” He put the card that came back into his deck and gave it a small shuffle. With that ready he drew the curtains on his window, blocking out most of the light leaving the room dark. He also lit a few candles so that he would be able to see the cards. Lastly he sat down at a small table with two chairs and sat down the deck on the other side for her to shuffle. ((Okay, you will need to pick out a spread, this link should take you to it. If it doesn’t tell me, I am not sure if the area on this forum is able to be seen by guests. Also, the larger the spread the more you will need to tell me. I can get past from your bio, but you will need to give me a general description of her present and what you want her future to be. All of this can be sent in PM. Tarot Card Spreads Also, I am missing one here, there is also a 9 card spread which is just a bigger 3 card spread, it is in the other RP I am doing with Ryder))

Amara warily approached him. She took the chair across from him and sat down, taking the deck of cards in her slender hands. She shuffled them nimbly and passed theem over to him.
((sorry its so short, lol...not much I can put here ^^))

Durriken took the deck and waved his hand over the top. When he did three cards rose and went toward the middle of the table. With another wave the cards flipped over, revealing their nature to Durriken. He looked at them with fixed eyes, seeing how the threads of fates crossed and tangled in the woman's future. “Hmm...let us see here. In your past, there was a great change, a near totally reversal in your living. My best guess that this is most likely referring to your turning.” he said, which didn’t reveal that much. “Now, your present. Temperance normally shows harmony and balance. It shows a woman pouring fire into water, but reversed, it shows that the harmony is off. It shows discord and confusion. And last...” he stopped mid sentence as he looked at the last card. As he did it began to spin, going from reversed to normal. “Hmm...this is odd, it looks like your future is undecided. It keeps shifting from complete to not. I’ll try one more card there to see if I can clear it up.” With one last flick of the wrist he sent one more card on top of The World at a 90 degree angle to it. The card was The Moon. “Now...this is odd. There is almost nothing really here. The Moon casts an even greater shadow upon the future. It is full of deception and deceit. This is very confusing. Your past and present are clear, but your future is just one giant tangle.” he said, now squinting at the cards.

Amara gazed at the cards, amazed. She had never before seen cards do as commanded so...perfectly. She shifted her cold eyes to focus on him. "The moon...the card that...saved me." She voiced aloud.
Amara's hands twisted into a tangle in her lap, such as the cards suggested. "So...you can't see what's in my future. Maybe I wasn't meant to know." A smile tugged at the corners of her red lips. Her eyes snapped back to him. "I don't know your name." She stated. "Nor do you mine. I am Amara." She stated. "The rest of my name matters not."
Something kept pulling her eyes back to the moon card. It called to her, although silently. She didn't understand...but there was something there...an idea forming in her mind, or the fringes of one.

Durriken stared at The Moon as it spun with The World. This really disturbed him. The Moon wanted to save her, then to get him into his room for this...and now, it reveals itself to her once more.
‘I don’t like this.’ he though to himself, ‘seeing a card too many times leads to questions, and questions are never good for things like this.’
When she spoke to him about his name he looked up at her, finally pulled away from the cards.
“My people call me Durriken.” he said, a pang of pain when he said his people.

Amara sighed. "Your people...my people...everyone so separated." She stood, pushing back the chair. "I must pay you....it is only fair. Three silver, am I correct?" She dropped the coins to the table with a flick of her elegant hand. "It was nice to meet you, sir Durriken." She cast him a slight smile and turned to leave.
Amara reached her small hand to rest on the door, but something once again drew her to look at the three cards still lying on the table. The moon card somehow bothered her...a question that she wished more than anything to answer. "Strange." She muttered, turning back to the door.
