Durriken stayed in awe at something that few outside the Shape Shifter clan would see. He watched as the creatures grew larger and larger. When the other faltered, Durriken sighed in relief, there wouldn’t be a major fight. He really wanted to avoid that. He set his cards down and relaxed slightly, the major conflict over.
Remembering about the people still there, he stood up and pointed at them.
“Now Leave!” he called out as he held the six of swords behind his back.
The card glowed and large waves of power appeared behind Durriken, making him look powerful and menacing. All of the said power was only an illusion cast by the Six of Swords. The card also made his it appear that his hair stood up on end and it and his ears glow with the power.

As Ajax watched Durriken, he almost laughed at the illusion. He could tell that it was something to that effect, though he was sure that the others were so astonished right now, that they wouldn't be able to pick up on it. He nodded and hissed, transforming into a human form, but with long nails.
The shapeshifters, the leader with them, walked away. They didn't feel like getting into so much of a fight over something that was so trivial.
Ajax walked forward and touched where the door had been. It had shattered against the attacks. He grimanced and looked back at Durri, "Hey, can you fix this with your mage powers or cards or something?"
Then Ajax went over to the bed, seemingly full of energy...
... and collapsed....

Durriken nodded, also pretty tired. He hoped that the would have enough energy to fix the stupid door. He took the Eight of Pentacles and placed it on the pieces of the door. He waved his hand over it and the pieces began to slow piece themselves back together. The card worked, but it didn’t put the door back on its hinges. Sighing, Durriken titled it up and leaned it against the door frame and put the Eight of Wands on the hinges and they also when back together.
Locking the door, Durriken collapsed, falling asleep on the rug by the door.

Morning... there was the distinct smell of food cooking... and it smelled like good food. Ajax sat up, refreshed and feeling good. He ached, from all of the shifting, but the aches were good. And he used enough of his energy to throw off the whole transforming-during-the-night thing. That made him even happier. Looking around, to get his surroundings, he saw Durri on the floor. Quickly, he lifted Durri up and placed him on the bed. Even though he looked frail, his shape shifter side gave him a bunch of strength that couldn't be seen.
Placing Durri on the bed and covering him gently, he snuck out the door. The door that hadn't existed previously. Ajax smiled at that, remembering that he had to thank Durri later. Shapeshifters also had a thing about getting enemies back in the middle of the night, at least the ones who played dirty did.
He went down the stairs, and walked to one of the serving girls of the inn. He asked for two very large breakfasts. Then he carried up one, while the girl carried up the other. He moved the table near the bed and sat on a chair, diving into his breakfast ravonously. Shapeshifters, after shape shifting, usually needed a pick me up, as they use so much energy that they need a lot of food to recover. Ajax ate, and watched Durriken at the same time.

Durriken slowly woke, feeling the fog of dreams fade away to the light of day. Yawning he stretched, and found that he wasn’t on the floor. Sitting up, he stretched his arms and legs, the joints popping occasionally. He felt a bit sore after using all his energy up. He wasn’t used to having to use his own since the cards normally held enough of their own to not need to tap into his. Looking over he smiled and Ajax and the food.
“Morning, is that for me?” he asked as he gestured to the second giant plate of food.

"No, of course not!" Ajax said with a strait face... he held it for one, two seconds, and then burst out laughing, "Of course it is! I probably could finish both of them off, but if you feel anything like me, oh mage, then you need some food too!"
Ajax smiled again, "No, I haven't gone insane, and I'm still angry at those idiots who did the whole... thing... to me, but I didn't shapeshift during the night, and I'm happy. Now, I just need to get my energy back... and the best way to do that is by food... You know... you're learning many secrets about shape shifters that some have spent their whole lives trying to learn. Amazing how the Gods are, isn't it?"

Durriken nodded as he got up and grabbed a chair from the corner and set across from Ajax and began to dig into his food with incredible speed.
“Yes, they do work in very...odd ways at time.” he said swallowing hard and almost chocking as he pounded his chest to get the food down. “But I am glad you let go of some of the anger. Anger itself isn’t bad, you just can’t let it control your life.”

"Heh... yeah, but now I have no where to go, with a thinking head on my shoulders... What am I to do now, gypsy?" Ajax said, calming down, but still grinning. He continued, "I couldn't possibly stay here... my bodies not used to being in one place... and many fights would ensue... You don't realize how much trouble I've gotten myself into... Think about it... I defended an 'outsider' from my own clan... Punishment is inevitable... They will stop at nothing to try and get back at me... By defending you, I've pretty much shamed the shape shifter clan... Father will probably hear about this in a couple of days... I wouldn't put it past him... He's always in the know."
Ajax grinned again, "And if he comes here... what a jolly family reunion it will be!"

“You’re welcome to travel with me. I was already outcast by the gypsies so being outcast by the Shape-Shifters doesn’t effect me that much. And look at you, you are stronger then most of those guys, you might not have the raw physical strength, but you are able to see things that they can’t. And they probably want me as dead as you, though now I can actually fight back. No matter what creature they turn into, I can still beat their butts with my cards. I can burn them, drown them, freeze them, or crush them, its their choice.” he said grinning and fanning out his cards in his hands for the last statement.
“And if your father really does come, he is still your father, at least you still know yours is alive and well, my father left me soon after my birth.” he said looking down at his food and shoveling more into his mouth so he wouldn’t have to go on.

"I'm not an outcast yet. It's extrodinarily difficult to become an outcast of the shapeshifter clan. Extremely hard. Because a member of the clan knows so many secrets. Shapeshifters are extremely mysterious, and they wouldn't let all of that knowledge slip from their grasp. So, they're not going to outcast me. There are very few people who can acually mandate it anyways. No one who's in the higher positions will even look at this case. For them, I just... require punishment. Still... my father might come, and that scares me. He's not in good health. Travelling would be terrible for him right now. I was advised that I should visit him, and that is bad. But I don't even remember his face, other than the glimpse I had in those memories. This... this informed me that I should go to him."
Ajax pulled a letter from under his shirt, where there was a concealed pocket. He opened the letter again and shivered. Then he quickly put it away.
He looked up at Durriken, "Okay... I'll travel with you... but if shape-shifters come to hunt us down... just let me take the punishment. Don't try to protect me, or I will be called a coward... which I am not."

Durriken swallowed the food in his mouth before he answered.
“I understand, but do expect me to just sit there and let you fight for me if they come after both of us. They hold as much as a grudge against me as you. I know more then they normally let people know, and they will probably want to know how I did what I do, when I myself have very little magical energy.”
Durriken took a few more bites of his food before it got cold, thinking over the whole father issue.
“If you are worried about him, how about we go to him then. We will either get to him before he leaves or meet him on the way.”

Ajax paled, his eyes growing wide. He placed his fork down as calmly as he could and looked down at his lap for a minute... two minutes... Then, pale as a ghost, looked up extremely slowly. His eyes were full of fear. Slowly, he formed words in his mouth. It seemed to take a lot of effort. "Go... G-go to him?"
Ajax stood up, his large plate of food forgotten. He started pacing one way and another. After a couple rounds just to relieve his stress, he started to talk. Wether he was talking to himself, or to Durriken wasn't very clear, "Go to him... No, I'm a disappointment. He doesn't love me, much less like me... He would dispise that I was walking around with a human, and a hybrid at that. I'm his worst mistake... He would try to come here to put me into line... but if I went to him... He would think that I was confronting him... or something. No, no... I couldn't go to him. It could be disasterous... Besides, I wouldn't know what path he would take to this city.... There are so many from... his house."

Durriken placed his fork down and looked at Ajax with shock and awe. The kid was really afraid of his father.
“I can use a card to point us toward him, but if you are really that worried we can wait here for him, I just though you wouldn’t want him to travel with his current health, that’s all.” he said kindly.
Durriken really didn’t know what to do. He was as conflicted as the Ajax was. He wasn’t going to let the kid take all the blame since he was only protecting him since he zapped all his energy. The others were also guilty of showing secrets to an outsider since they initiated the battle, he and Ajax would have been happy enough to be left alone.
“No matter what you choose to do, I am doing it too, I am also to blame for what happened.”

Ajax sighed and stopped pacing. He saw the bed, and immediately flung himself on it, burying his face in the pillows. This was not good... not good at all. He was stuck in the middle of his iternal conflict. Wait a second... If he didn't go, it could be interpreted as he was scared of his father. Ajax sat up quickly, his legs bent back, and his hands in front of him, balancing on the bed. His eyes were wide, and he bit his lip. He nodded to himself, it was settled.
"Okay. We're going to him." Ajax said. He looked at Durri and frowned. "You're a gypsy... you people like to walk, don't you... there is no faster transportation around, without having to pay?"

“Ex-Gypsy, but yea, I walk everywhere.” he said correcting the shape-shifter.
Durriken began to clear the trays and dishes up, getting ready for them to go. After everything was together he tested the door, to make sure he repaired it correctly last night. He had to pretty much trust his cards since he was pretty much dead to the world. Finding that the door and everything else was in order he grabbed the trays.
“We better get going, the earlier we get going the better chance we won’t meet anyone on the way.”
