Amara stepped lightly across the ground, black boots making no sound on the ground dampened by the early night mist. The black skirt flowing around her ankles, split up the side nearly to her hip to give her room to fight. A sword was strapped around her waist, contrasting with her otherwise feminie appearance. The shirt she wore was a plain black shirt...she was not one to want to stand out any longer.
A light breeze picked up, shifting through her red hair, lifting it lightly from her shoulders, toying with it. She blinked her soft eyes, always walking with no destination in mind.
"Why did this happen to me?" Amara questioned, as she often did. Small ivory fangs flashed in the moonlight as she spoke. It wasn't that she hated what she had become...but the inconvenience of it all.
A sigh escaped her full red lips and she paused in her walking, staring out into nothingness...sensing that something was out there...but what it was she couldn't tell.
Amara cursed her incompetence at not seeking others like her...other vampires...that could teach her to use her skill, her curse, her gift...but a part of her was reluctant.
"Is someone there?" Amara asked, her voice soft and melodious, as of a sweet song being played on a harp. Despite her deceptive helplessness, her hand rested on the hilt of her sword, a caloused and well trained hand that wasn't afraid to shed blood if the situation called for it.

Ryder had not expected himself to be out wandering, but the lycan blood in him could not be satiate just sitting by and waiting for something to happen. He had to always be on the move. He had been walking silently through the streets, not even taking to time to realize that there was another in the town. his ears picked up the soft lyrical voice of a young female.
Ryder turned a corner and saw her standing their, full black attire, and then the sword caught his eye. This girl, seemingly young and petit, with a fiery color hair. Ryder was not sure he could trust this girl, something in his stomache ached for her death. He was not sure if it were the lycans hunger, or the lustful nature of any demon in him. But none the less he stepped toward her.
"Hello there young maiden, and why do you walk these streets alone?"
Ryders adrenaline rushed as his nerves were on edge, making him glad he had control over his shifting ability. It could have been tragic if he lost control and ended up slaughtering some innocent, and he could not deal with more of that blood on his hands. There was enough of it already

Amara's eyes narrowed, hand tightening over the cool handle of her sword. She faced the person, knowing immediately that he was not mortal...but what he was, she wasn't sure.
"I could ask you the same thing, fair gentleman." She said, no fear betraying itself on her face. "Maybe I walk the streets to ease my suffering...or perhaps to pass the time. I don't see how it's your concern, however." She said with a slight smile.
Amara shifted her weight onto one leg, a better stance in case a fight was sprung. "But...kind sir...I walk the streets alone for I have no one. I walk the streets to ease my mind." She surveyed him closely. "And you walk the streets alone as well...why is that?"

Ryder put up his hands as the woman gripped the hilt of her blade, he wanted no confrontation. he took a defensive step back as to not offend the girl. he then set his hands down at his sides. He shook his head and ran a hand back through his hair, not knowing entirely how to explain himself.
"I walk alone, because I have no one, and am a danger to all who know me. And all i care for is gone..."
Ryder sighed heavily, reliving his old life again in his own mind, in his solitude. He shook the memories from his mind and turned his eyes back to the woman before him. He allowed himself a small smile.*
"so am I befitting enough for you to remove your hand from that blade?"

Amara eyed him warily, sensing no danger in the man. "Fair enough." She said, letting her hand fall to her side. "Walk with me." She said. "So neither of us walks alone." The truth was...she didn't want him dissappearing to attack when she wasn't expecting it.
Amara's soft eyes blinked for a second, clearing them of the mist. "A danger to all who know you...I can relate, somewhat. Not many know me, though." She stated. The split in the skirt showed the pale skin of her leg...but she didn't care. She wasn't one for modesty. Vampiresses were sensual, even without attempting it. "I live a life in solitude."

Ryder nodded warily as this girl spoke. Though he felt no first hand offense to her, something in his mind was screaming in agony against his reasoning. though he could not figure out what it was that irritated this sense in him. The question was on the tip of his tongue, but he chose to divert it to a different one
"Aye...I know that feeling all too well...oh and may I ask, what shall i call you, since girl does not seem quite fitting to you"
Ryder spotted the pallid flesh that shone out from under the skirt and he immediatly, turned his eyes away, yet something about her made his eyes yearn not to. But it felt un-natural to him and he fought the urge.

Amara turned to face the man, casting a questioning gaze that seemed to search his very soul. It was almost as if she could read his thoughts...and yet she could not. She lowered her gaze to the ground with a slight smile. "Some know me as Amara...others as Bane. Take your choice, it matters not to me." She began walking again.
A sigh escaped Amara's fair lips. The night was growing darker. "And do you, perhaps, have some title that you prefer? Man hardly seems fitting." The same alluring smile played across her lips again. She turned her soft face to look up at him. There was something...strange about him, but she wouldn't know the difference in her feelings...she was untrained.

Ryder cast his eyes down for a moment. Relishing in her smile. He raised his eyes back to meet hers, the smile still hindering on his face. He stretched his arms out and bowed
"Well, it is a pleasure to meet you Lady Amara. They call me Ryder..well they would if anyone knew me..."
He found some childish humor in his words, but withheld his urge to chuckle at his thoughts. He could not scare this Amara off like oh so many he had done before, he was trying to start fresh, within the repercussions of his past. He stood from his bow and returned the questioning gaze at her, he could feel as though she knew something he did not, but at the same time, her face gave him the impression that she knew as much as he did. which was next to nothing. His listened carefully to their feet coming in to contact with the ground, the hulking crunch that his feet made, compared to the delicate shift of pebbles that she left in her wake. But he had had one question left before he could allow himself to be folded into comfort with this companion.
"And why is it that they refer to you as Bane? You seem to be no bane to me."

Amara's face turned away from Ryder, bathing in the silver moonlight that reflected off her upturned face. "They call me Bane...because it is my middle name." She said with a soft laugh. "My...mother was a slayer...or so I've been told. It fits, doesn't it?" She paused to look up at him. "How ironic." She said and then walked again.
"You seem...strange to me." She said. "Why is that?"

Ryder watched Amaras body language, the way she chuckled to herself, with the soft tone of the word ironic. He felt something hidden in her words. But he could not place it one bit. He stood for a moment, watching her as she stepped away. The look of her pallid face still flashed in his mind, as if something was troubling her, he would be one to know the look, as he was all too familiar with it. He jogged up to catch her before slowing to meet her pace. the soft crunch of pavement beneath their feet was nearly hypnotic, it made him doze off, almost enough to distract him of her question.
"I get that alot...maybe its my face...but may I ask, what is ironic?"
He hoped he had not asked too soon, he did not wish to make her paranoid and leave him behind. Nor did he intend to sound like a stalker. This was harder than it seemed for others to him.

Amara stopped, anger flashing behind her soft eyes. She opened her mouth to cut down the question, deny him an answer, but thought better of it. What purpose would it serve? There would be no reason for it.
With a sigh, she forced her facial features to soften again. "It's ironic...sir Ryder, because of what I am." She stated, smiling slightly. It was the first time she had smiled that the points of sharp ivory fangs could be seen. She turned and began walking again, not waiting to see if he had seen it or not.

Ryder arched a brow at the comment "because of what i am". He could not help but arch his brow at that. The wind picked up for a moment, causing him to close his jacket around him. He held it tight to him. Hoping that the thin layer of weathered leather would be enough to fend off the chill, not that he needed the help with heating up his body. Most of the time his un-natural heritage came in handy with that. He coughed a bit to clear his throat, being dry and raspy. He turned his bright green-hazel eyes toward Amara. He wanted to hold back the question boiling in his mind, burning a plague bearing hole into his curiosity. He tried to hold back, hold back for everything he was, but he felt it slip before it even left his lips. For the smile he saw on his face seemed to be one that she held not much anymore. As if it had been hidden away and now it was trying its best to peak out from its shadows. He feared making it hide once more, she was much more pleasing with a smile on her face.
"And what are you exactly?"
He wished he had not said it the moment he could hear himself say it. He cringed at it. The sound was like a viper biting into his chest. It pained him to ask, and he recoiled, hiding his face from Amara, not wanting to shame her.
"Please forgive me...That was not called for"

Amara smiled again, chuckling at his discomfort, and somehow enjoying it. The moonlight cast its silver glow on her pale skin, making her body seem to glow. "You're such a gentleman, Ryder. It does not matter if it was called for or not...you still asked a question." She faced him. "I'm a creature of the night...bound to feast on human's life blood. Surely you understand."
The same haunted smile crossed her lips, the ivory fangs shining slightly. "And I assume that you are not...mortal...either. Do you care to elaborate?"

Ryder nodded at the slight accusation of his super natural being. After knowing that she was a vampire, much made sense to him. It explained why she had been walking alone, why he had felt that knot in his stomach that did not seem to leave. it all made sense in his mind know. her super natural status had somehow effected him so that he sensed it, but he had never felt it before. It had been a new sensation to him, was it because he had never met a vampire before and his subconscious was telling him about a natural threat, or was it because his fire demon and lycan blood was finally developing into a working cohesive substance? He did not take the time to think about it. he felt nervous, he looked down at his hand and saw that the back of it had begun to sprout fur, red tinted fur. He hid his hand away hoping that Amara had not seen it. Now that he knew what she was he somehow did no longer feel the screaming of his mind.
"yes...I am....special....I am a sort of hybrid you see....Part wolf...lycan really....and part demon...."

Amara glanced at him, taking a tentative step away from him as he spoke the dreaded words she hoped he didn't speak. "So, Sir Ryder...we are destined to be enemies?" She asked. The tenseness of the air was like a tight cord stretched between them. Her hand rested lightly on the hilt of her sword once again, hoping that this lycan was not like the others that tried to destroy all vampires....she was not like other vampires...she felt no animosity between races, although they made her nervous.
Amara's eyes darkened a shade. "I feel no strife between us....I hope it is the same with you." She stated, muscles tensing. "Just because our races differ makes no difference." The musical tones of her voice shadowed an unspoken threat. She wanted more than anything for this man to befriend her...she had not spoken to another immortal in a great while, and it was a wonderful change...and she hoped that it wasn't shattered now.
