Ryder took a defensive step back as he caught her hand slide onto the hilt of her sword. His eyes shone softly, not the hard angry type that he had imagined his kind would have.
"No...by far lady Amara...I am not like the lycans...nor am I one of the demons...out cast by both I am my own...and I hold no contempt for your kind in general...I judge beings by themselves...not by what blood runs in their veins..."
He held out a hand, palm up, to Amara, as a sign of benign intent. The fur receded back into his hand and the claws that had come from his nervousness shrank back into the soft pink nails of a normal humanoid. His eyes searched hers for a sign that she would relax herself. He could smell her nervousness, the undead adrenaline running inside her. he wanted no harm to her, by far, he had not had a companion since his parents demise at his own hands. and here was someone fully accepting that the world had dealt him his hand, not by choice. But would she find that same for him? she had spoken of no ill will...but would what he was affect that?

Amara forced her muscles to relax, tension decreasing. She let her breath out in a quiet hiss and a smile of apology appeared on her face. "Forgive me, sir Ryder. I only assumed the worst. Times are hard...I'm sure you understand. I wish you no harm." She said, shifting her hand off of her sword.
Amara breathed deeply, calming stretched nerves. "It must be hard...being outcast. I have...lived in denial. I know no others of my kind." She stated, resuming her even steps, feet softly touching the ground with a quiet crunch. "I'm glind I've found a companion." She smiled, showing her small fangs.

Ryder smiled back at Amara, also glad to have a companion in these harsh days. Times were changing, and things were not as they used to be, sort of like a strange wind blowing over the hills and whistling as they hit a town. He spotted Amaras ivory fangs as he pale lips parted into a smile, but he looked from them to the gleam that now sat in her eye. he was glad she could smile. it had been far too many years since he was able to make someone do that. He shook the cold from his skin and stepped off with his new lady vampire companion. the soft crunch of her feet almost hidden under the slightly heavier steps of his own. the wind blew again, this time warmer slightly. He liked it, it was one of those breezes on a chilled night that seems warmer than the rest, maybe just because it goes the right way.
"I see...and i know all too well...for those of us who shun the life chosen, we live alone, never part of a coven, or a pack...loners who hold our own"

Amara's lips closed over her teeth, hiding the wicked fangs from view. She inhaled the crisp wind and unintentionally moved closer to Ryder.
"Yes...loners. There are a lot of them out here...and most are dangerous. Packs, covens, groups...they are all even more dangerous, though. Some of us want to be loners because we are...afraid of what we have become.” Her eyes lowered to the rock-strewn ground, elegant hands clasped together in front of her. “It’s…hard.” She stated with a deep inhale. “I haven’t aged in two years…nothing has changed, except I have become more…beautiful. Scars have healed...abnormalities aren’t here anymore. But…I can’t feel the warm sunshine on my skin anymore. If I did, I would die instantly.” Surprisingly, her voice choked with emotion. “When I hunger…I can’t control what I do. I kill innocent people, without even feeling regret.”
Amara sighed and looked up at him. “My looks are just a covering for the animal inside my black soul.” She chuckled softly. "I'm sorry...it's been a long time since I've spoken to anyone. I'll try to keep my thoughts to myself."

Ryder placed a knowing hand upon Amaras shoulder. He sighed heavily. he knew the burden of imortality. His broad frame echoed the pain what Amara kept inside. He let his eyes strafe the ground before him, trying their best to keep back the pain from his memories.
"aye...I know the pain of never being able to die...and keeping a beast at bay...but to never see the sun again...I can only imagine..."
He shook his head and let his hand fall back to his side. Ryder tried to imagine living the rest of his life away from the gleam of the sun. he had for weeks, after the incident but after his mourning he traveled day in and day out. He couldnt help but shiver at the thought of living in the night for eternity. He looked to Amara and set his hand on her back solemly. he knew not what to do and it was the only thing in mind.
"Well lady Amara..if i can manage to find a way to cure vampirism...You shall feel the light again"

Amara leaned into his touch, longing for the human (or almost human) touch that she had not felt in so long. "I'll hold you to that, Ryder." She said quietly. "But...I don't think such a thing is possible."
Amara's knowing eyes locked into his gaze. "You have...such a sadness. I don't understand it." She said, brow furrowing. She reached out a slender hand and touched his face. She turned away, tears coming to her eyes for some reason. "Ryder...you are such a kind man." She spoke softly. "Yet...you harbor your demons with a great effort, don't you? They try to control you, don't they?"

Ryder knew what she meant by his demons, but he attempted his best to seem ignorant of it. somehow she could she into his eyes and bring out what ever seemed to haunt his lycanthrope soul, maybe it was the demonic blood that would not allow the memories to go away, maybe it was the packmind of his lycan side. But somehow this Amara could sense something in him.
"Well fighting back demons does come with being half demon..."
He felt wrong dodging the accusation, but he had no idea on how to confront her questioning. His sadness was his own, he felt this girl had no need to share the burden placed upon his shoulders. yet somehow he could feel that his eyes and body language were or would betray him, he was strong. But he could not always hide what went on inside his mind. And when she leaned into his touch, he felt strange, he had not touched another being since that faithful night that he had discovered what he was, what his parents had truly been. and now, here was this reluctant vampiress, seemingly looking deep within him and seeing his own pain.
"I will find a way...there could be no such plague as the species that have found their way to this world, if there were not a type of anti-virus..."

Amara spun to face him, anger in her eyes. "I am not one afflicted with a plague, just as you are not. It is not a virus...it is a curse. It's not as easy as you so think." She smiled softly. "I really do appreciate your kind words...but...it is not that easy."
Amara suddenly clutched her stomach, a moan of pain escaping between her full lips. She sank to her knees on the ground, pain and terror filling her bright eyes. In a moment, the spasm was gone, but she remained kneeled on the ground, soft curls of hair falling in front of her face, shadowing the pale skin. "I'm sorry, dear Ryder." She whispered.

Ryder shyed his eyes away in shame, he knew better than to call what he and Amara were, a plague. he knew in his heart that that was not what it was. He nodded in understanding as she spoke. Then she doubled over in pain, his eyes going wide with fright and his heart pounding through his chest in fear. He fell to his knees by her. holding his arms out yet afraid to touch her for fear that something else would happen. he did not wish to risk further injuring of Amara. But when she had calmed and apologized he shook his head.
"Lady Amara...why apologize for what you have not done? I see no wrong in what happened other than a wrong that seems to hurt you...is it the hunger?"
Ryder knew that vampires suffered from a hunger or a thirst for blood, but he had no idea how powerful it could be, and he was afraid for Amaras saftey that the hunger would be too powerful for her to handle. Even in his form, he could hurt her, and he wished not to if she lost control of herself in a hunger like he had lost himself so many years ago in a blood rage. but something in him saw strength in this girl, that same sort of willpower that had kept him alive throughout the years. And he did not think she would let anything conquer her without a great interal fight. but still he had to help.
He gripped her gently by the arms and helped her to her feet, making sure that she was not going to collapse again while he was there.
"You say I am kind...when truly...I am still a beast...merely seeking redemption for what I have already done"

Amara nodded. "The hunger...yes." Her breathing was slightly labored. She closed her eyes, her lips parting slightly to take in breath through her mouth. The tips of her fangs could be seen. "This is the life fate has thrown me in." She steadied herself by placing her delicate hands on his muscular forearms.
Amara's skin appeared delicate, but her hands were calloused from the use of many different weapons. Her muscles were hard from strenuous training.
Amara's eyes fluttered open, a strange smile coming to her face. "Ryder...you call yourself a beast...but look at what I am. If you stay here...one of us will get hurt. I can't control it." She said, closing her eyes tightly as another wave of pain washed over her.
"I must feed." She stated, her voice gaining a more menacing tone. "Now." Her face darkened and she pushed herself away from Ryder, taking flight. Her steps were quiet even as she ran. There was a blood lust in her eyes. She was putting distance between herself and Ryder...she didn't want him to see the creature that she was. A pearl-like tear slipped down her face.

Ryder sighed and caught his balance as Amara pushed him away, he watched silently as she began to run off into the night. He let his eyes fall for a moment. They filled with an emotion he did not recognize at all. It was different, as though he would be held responsible for allowing Amara to wander into the depths of the night, her own hell alone. He could not allow her to go alone. If nothing else he had to keep her away from civilization.
Ryder let part of him flourish, letting his blood flow through him slightly stronger. his nails extended into curving black talons, and he felt his muscles tighten and bulk. His eyes scanned the nearby buildings for an alley, anything to cut Amara off. He saw nothing, leaving him to a different method. Ryder leapted from his position to the nearest building, digging his talons into it. The concrete of the buildings mass gave way to his inhuman talons and gave him a deep enough grip to allow him to climb.
Ryder used this method to launch himself from building to building in a chase after Amara, using what little scent she left behind
"Amara!!!"

Amara glanced over her shoulder, seeing an inhuman Ryder following her. She turned back, quickening her pace, though it was a fruitless effort. He had much more speed than her. She pressed onwards, the blood call loud in her ears. She slowed to a walk as she reached the street, becoming unnoticed by the mortals walking there.
"Which one...who's blood is calling me?" Amara whispered to herself, making eye contact with every person she met. As a young man's eyes met hers, her eyes seemed to flash silver. Adrenaline rushed into her veins. The man's eyes locked onto hers. "You are the one." She breathed, aproaching the boy of no more than sixteen. She glanced over her shoulder once more, hoping she had lost Ryder in the crowd. When she glanced back, the boy hadn't moved.

Ryder leaped from his buildings, he watched as Amara glanced over her shoulder, blatantly noticing him. He noticed her legs pick up pace, and he followed her pattern. She soon ran into the night crowd of people. He saw her for a brief moment before he lost sight of her. But Ryder could still smell her. She was not gone, merely doing what she knew best. She was hiding from him and hunting, the way of any vampire. His inhuman eyes scanned the crowd for anything noticable, maybe just beneath the sight of people, something so subtle that if you were not aware it was there you would look right over it.
Her scent was strong. The pherimones she put off from the hunger filled Ryders nostrils and put him on a sort of high. He monstrous nature screamed inside of him,"Vampire!!". yet he forced it out of his mind, making his will stronger to stop Amara before an innocent was hurt. Then he saw a girl look over her shoulder, her eyes scanning the rooftops. Amara he thought. He then sent himself leaping into a nearby alley, comforming back into his human shape, then whispering...
"Amara..."
Ryder pulled his sleeve up to expose his throbbing veins.

Amara felt a strange feeling...an odd pain in the pit of her stomach that slowly worked its way up her body. It happened in a split second. She could feel concern…and it wasn’t her own. “Ryder?” She breathed. She could feel pity…and a determination to stop something, she supposed it was her, and a hint of anger. She sank to her knees.
“Miss…are you okay?” Amara looked up to see the young man kneeling in front of her.
“Leave me…I’m fine.” Amara commanded.
“But…you could be hurt.” The boy repeated.
“I said…go…away.” She brought her face up to meet his, her fangs bared. “Please.”
The boy’s eyes widened and he backed away, standing to his feet and fleeing. Several people eyed Amara with concern, but they didn’t approach her. Somehow…they still couldn’t tell that she was vampyr.
Amara’s stomach clenched tightly. “Why?” She gasped. “Why do you care?” Darkness claimed her eyes and she fell to the ground, unconscious from the hunger she had neglected to feed.

Ryder hefted the unconscious Amara into his arms, glaring at all who watched. He turned and sprinted back through the alley to a neighboring street. He turned and ran down the man walk to another alley, in this he saw a fire escape. Readjusting Amara so that he held her with one arm, he leapt for the edge of the fire escape, grabbing it and pulling his weight and hers over onto it, with some added strain. He scaled the res of the way over the flights of escape stairs, up onto the roof.
Once there he set Amara down as gently as he could. He hair sprawled about her and he head lolled to one side. In his mind Ryder knew what she needed, yet he was still hesitant to do so. After much arguing with himself he knelt beside her, using one of his nails to cut his wrist open. Ryder placed his bleeding wrist to Amaras lips, tilting it so that it slowly flowed over them into her mouth. He braced himself for her to wake, for anything he had not anticipated, but he knew he would be in pain.
